It was actually wonderful to have some time with Katy today **on** our anniversary. Okay, it wasn't a lot of time but it was some time. About three hours, enough time for her and I to (ahem) cuddle, shower and go to lunch. Lunch was fast food (Taco Hell) but we grabbed Pumpkin Shakes at Culvers for dessert then I had to drive her back to the truck so she could make it over to the east side of Michigan for 4am. We'll be more "properly" celebrating this weekend when she comes home. (grin grin grin)
This is my cousin Michele (far left) then Katy and myself in 1984. Much thinner, our hair much blonder than it is now (mine all piled under a hat), married three and some odd years and thinking we could take on the world! Believe me we tried.... :)
Here's Katy on our trip to the Upper UP in Michigan. I botched the photo where I tried to get her holding up this light house...but she's smiling!!! I don't get her smiling very often!!Twenty four years later, we've stopped colouring our hair (actually we stopped within a year of that first picture....) deciding that we've earned every one of those silver hairs and will be keeping them, are heavier (it's the pumpkin shakes....XD), I ended up cutting my hip-length hair for my sister who was going through chemo then didn't start to grow it back until Katy told me that she actually liked long hair....ambiguity....
Notice the kitten...this is Erik....who is just a year old and is already 16 pounds. He was 13 pounds at 6 months of age and is the biggest kitten our Vet has ever seen. He's healthy and is going to be a huge House-Tiger when he completes his full growth. Sorry, I was having an achy day when this was taken, and Katy seems to be taking my picture a lot on days like those. I do smile, and hopefully will do a great deal more when I have my new dentures put in in the next 6 weeks! See what 28 years can do? But I love her so much!
